Good recipe for soup?

Something the kids will eat. I cook a good beef and veggie but my 10 year old hates it.Good recipe for soup?
How about potato soup ?... it is simple and quick to make.....

here the ingredients..

potatoes

onion

salt

pepper

flour

milk

water

celery (totally optional )

this is a handed down recipe from my mom..so it is not a formal recipe...she was one who never measured anything..

no real science or any way to mess up...

First I put on about a half a pot of water..and start it boiling...I add salt to this water....and about a third of a stick of margarine...

take your potatoes....peel them and than dice them up... whatever size pot you are using..just peel and dice enough potatoes that will come out to about equal to the water you have in your pan..just make sure there is about an inch or so of water over the potatoes....than finely dice up an onion...use it all or a little depend on how much of an onion taste you like....but it does need a little bit....another option is you can cut and dice a stalk of celery to add in --but you don't have to.....when your water is boiling add your potatoes and onion in the pan..this would also be the time to add your celery if you use it.......than let it boil until the potatoes are tender enough to cut with a spoon.......

then take a normal soup bowl ...fill it till it is half full of cold water...add about three teaspoons full of self rising flour and mix this up until the flour dissolves ( you probably could substitute corn starch for flour if you wanted to) ..... fill the bowl up the rest of the way with milk...... stir this around...than add this mixture to the boiling soup...and let it cook for a few minutes until it thickens up a bit.....dash a little pepper in and stir it up...test it and see if you need to add more salt ..if so add it now...and that is it.........

I have two boys that will not hardly eat the same thing..it is enough to make me pull my hair out..but both of them will eat this..and I usually will make a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it........Good recipe for soup?
Try a recipe for cheesy nacho soup or good old fashioned chicken noodle. Creamy potato might be good. You could also try cold soups like strawberry soup. Just ask your ten year old what they do like and do that one.
Maybe something a little more on the creamy side. Kids tend to like that more than just something that has broth in it. Maybe some split pea and ham soup or some potato and corn chowder type of soup?
Try making Cheeseburger Bisque, they'll like it. It's made with ground beef, mushrooms, onions, peppers, cheese, heavy cream. Cook the ground beef (1%26amp;1/2 lbs.) and drain the oil, run under water to wash away all oils. Put heavy cream (1qt.), cheese (Velveta cheese, 1/2 box), sliced mushrooms, chopped onions and peppers (0ne cup each, very fine), and your choice of seasonings. Cook in a double boiler, medium heat until bisque reduce down to a thick creamy soup. Hey, I think I just might have that for dinner tomorrow...

(for 4 people)

Ingredients: 500 g pumpkin (with skin), 3 slices bacon, 1/2 small onion, chicken broth, 1 dl milk, fresh rosemary, extra-virgin olive oil, salt.

.

Clean the pumpkin, take the skin off and cut it in small cubes. Put onion in a pan with some oil and cook until onion is soften. Add bacon, cut in small pieces, and fresh rosemary and cook for 10 minutes. Add pumpkin and cook for 10 minutes. Then add chicken broth and cook until the pumpkin is tender. Take away the rosemary and blend everything with a hand blender, add milk and cook for the last 10 minutes. Serve warm and garnish with fresh rosemary.
Sure wish you had told me what your kids *do* like. I make all kinds of homemade soups... too many to list here...

So Until you can help us out a bit... Campbells is always good... lol
mushroom
Kids like things that are sweet and not too ';textural'; so chunky veg are out.

Try

- butternut pumpkin soup

- creamy tomato soup

- creamy leek and potato

You get the idea.
I love those soup which comes in a can. Cheap and good and faster to cook. Haha..
