Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe & Questions?

I have been searching for a recipe without onion... the thought of onion puts me off a bit!

If you have a recipe without onion or know of a great tasty one that does have onion that would be excellent!!

Also, can you use salt %26amp; pepper on your cabbage soup?Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe %26amp; Questions?
Some of these recipes you got were gross! This is how I make mine and I will leave out the onions for you.....its really good and a Polish staple I grew up on. I (as an adult that likes to save money and time) have invented some short cuts too!

1 bag shredded cabbage

1 small bag of shredded carrot

1 large can tomato sauce

2 cans chicken or veg stock

5 to 6 stacks celery, sliced thin

1 jar of saurkraut, drained , not rinsed

Add it all to a big soup pan and cook for about an hour and a half....you could add salt and pepper but I would stick to just pepper, there is enough salt in the tomato juice and saurkraut. Also, if the liquid I suggested is not enough, use water to cover, thats what I do.

Use the same recipe, just leave out the onions. You can season the soup with whatever you like.
A simple recipe for cabbage soup, which is low in sodium and fat.

2 qts boiling low sodium/no salt chicken broth

1 can Low Fat Cream Celery Soup

1 head chopped cabbage

2 cloves chopped garlic

1/2 cup chopped baby carrots (optional)

1/2 cup FINELY minced onions (optional)

2 cups pulled chicken

Bring broth and cream soup to boil, add chicken, carrots, garlic, and onion. Simmer 10 minutes. Add cabbage and cook til tender.

Salt and pepper to suit your taste. Remember... it requires less salt when added at the table, vs salt that has been cooked into a dish!
No, you can't make that (Dolly Parton) diet soup without onions. One of the main ingredients is 2 packages of Lipton onion soup in a box. Is this what you are talking about?

6 green onions

1 bell pepper

3 whole or 1 large can tomatoes

1 head cabbage

2 stalks of celery

Season with onion soup mix

Cut veggies and cover with water in a large pot. Bring to boil and simmer until veggies are tender. Use salt pepper, garlic, or bouillon for seasoning (what you like).

TJ Miracle soup can be eaten any time of day you feel hungry. Eat as much as you like as often as you like. This soup will not add calories. Eat all you want. The more you eat the more you lose.

I personally think if you can't eat the onions then add fat free chicken or beef broth (8 cups) instead of water and omit boxed onion soup/green onions. I also think it taste better with can tomatoes rather than fresh.

I wonder if you are doing the whole diet or just the soup part.
Just leave the onions out, and no do not add salt. The cabbage soup diet helps you lose weight quickly, it's not a long term diet. Part of this is water weight and eating salt makes you retain water. If you must have salt (I'm a salt freak) you might try a low-sodium or no-sodium substitute. They make salt substitutes. Pepper should be fine.
If you don't like onions try something else to season it with and yes you can use salt %26amp; pepper...Try to stay away from salt as will make you retain water weight...

Cabbage Soup Recipe

6 large green onions

2 green peppers

1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)

3 Carrots

1 Container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms

1 bunch of celery

half a head of cabbage

1 package Lipton soup mix

1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)

1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)

Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.

Directions:

Slice green onions, put in a pot and start to saute with cooking spray.

Cut green pepper stem end off and cut in half, take the seeds and membrane out. Cut the green-pepper into bite size pieces and add to pot.

Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, add to pot.

Clean carrots, cut into bite size pieces, and add to pot.

Slice mushrooms into thick slices, add to pot.

If you would like a spicy soup, add a small amount of curry or cayenne pepper now.

You can use beef or chicken bouillon cubes for seasonings. These have all the salt and flavors you will need.

Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the V8 juice), cover and put heat on low. Let soup cook for a long time - two hours works well. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
This one using dry onion soup mix would probably taste better and be easier to prepare: http://www.faddiet.com/cabsoupdietp.html

Hope that helps!
If I recall correctly, you can add or omit just about anything to the soup pot (within reason). Any kind of spices that you like to add some zing or other low calorie items such as celery, spinach or leafy lettuce will work well.
