';Kitty Litter Cake';


CAKE INGREDIENTS:


1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix


1 box of white cake mix


1 package white sandwich cookie s


1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix


A few drops green food coloring


12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent





SERVING ';DISHES AND UTENSILS';


1 NEW cat-litter box


1 NEW cat-litter box liner


1 NEW pooper scooper





1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.





2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.





3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape


the blunt ends into slightly curved point s. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.





4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable an d hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

Orange Soda Pound Cake





Ingredients:


1 cup Crisco


1/2 stick butter or margarine


2 3/4 cups sugar


5 eggs


1 cup Orange Crush soda (or other orange soda drink)


3 cups plain flour


1 tsp orange flavoring


1 tsp vanilla flavoring





Direcions:


Cream Crisco, butter, and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time and cream each egg well. Mixing well at this stage is what gives pound cake some air and makes it rise high.





Rotate adding a little orange soda with flour. Mix after each until smooth.


Add the orange and vanilla flavorings and do the final mix.


Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Times may vary a bit. Use a toothpick to make sure the cake is done. The toothpick should come out clean when the cake is ready.





Orange Soda Pound Cake is especially good frosted. Here is a good frosting for this cake.





Orange Pound Cake Frosting


1/2 stick butter of margarine


3 oz. cream cheese


1 cup confectioners sugar


1 tsp orange flavoring


1/2 tsp vanilla flavoring





Frosting Directions:


Cream butter and cream cheese.


Mix in confectioners sugar and flavorings.


Stir or use a blender and mix until this looks like frosting.


Spread on warm Orange Soda Pound Cake. It will run a bit which is what it's supposed to do. Remember that this is a glaze and not a traditional frosting which is a bit heavy for most pound cakes








Chocolate %26amp; Zucchini Cake





- 1 1/2 C (180 g) all-purpose flour


- 1/2 C (60 g) whole wheat flour (of course, you can just use 2 C / 240 g all-purpose flour, I was just trying to be good)


- 1/2 C (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder


- 1 tsp baking soda


- 1/2 tsp baking powder


- 1/2 tsp salt


- 1/2 C (110 g) butter, softened


- 1 C (160 g) light brown sugar


- 1 tsp vanilla extract


- 1 tsp instant coffee granules (the Nescaf茅 type, the stronger the better)


- 3 eggs, at room temperature


- 2 C zucchini, unpeeled, grated (about 280 g, two medium)


- 1 C (170 g) chocolate chips





Topping :


- 40 g light brown sugar


- 1/2 C (70 g) hazelnuts, toasted and chopped





(Serves 10.)





Preheat the oven to 180掳C (360掳F). Grease a 3 quart (3 L) springform cake pan, and flour it or sprinkle with cocoa powder : this is to help the cake unmold easily, especially if you're not using a magic non-stick pan.





In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.





In your food processor, combine the sugar and butter, and mix until fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract and espresso powder, then the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly between each addition.





Spoon in the flour mixture, reserving the last half-cup of it. Mix thoroughly, the batter will be thick.





Add the grated zucchini and the chocolate chips to the reserved flour mixture, and toss to coat. Fold in the batter, and blend thoroughly, it's fun. Pour into the prepared cake pan, and flatten the surface with a spatula.





In a small bowl, combine the topping ingredients, and sprinkle all over the batter. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean. Turn out on a rack to cool for half an hour, then unmold.

1/4 cup of your favorite flavor kool-aid powder


1 box of your cake mix- yellow cake works best in most cases

What you'll do is mix the kool-aid powder with whatever amount of water the cake recipe calls for. That's it. If your cake calls for a cup of water, then mix the powder into that cup of water and then add it to the batter.





The kool-aid tropical fruit flavors go best with the yellow cake and frosted with vanilla frosting.





You can even make a black forest cake. Just use your favorite chocolate cake mix and add in the cherry kool-aid mix.





The cake mix, once finished, will come out a little lighter than the color of the batter. So it's even fun for kids' birthday parties. You know how it is, when the birthday kid wants his/her cake to be a specific color, like blue, pink or even green. Well, now you've found your way out of that bind : )





Kool-aid comes in so many flavors, so it's kind of hard to get bored of this kind of cake.





These cakes are a bit richer and definitely more moist than if you would've prepared them without the kool-aid. And yeah, it's got a bit more sugar in it, but hey, the amount of kool-aid you put into the cake is the same that would go into two 8 oz drinks, so you're really not loading the cake with sugar.






It's not really a cake, but a pie, but there is an apple pie from the Depression that uses no apples, but uses Ritz crackers instead.





Ritz Mock Apple Pie





The classic pie, featuring Ritz crackers baked in a golden crust,


is perfect for the holidays.





Pastry for two-crust 9-inch pie


36 RITZ Crackers, coarsely broken (about 1 3/4 cups crumbs)


1 3/4 cups water


2 cups sugar


2 teaspoons cream of tartar


2 tablespoons lemon juice


Grated peel of one lemon


2 tablespoons margarine or butter


1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon








1. Roll out half the pastry and line a 9-inch pie plate. Place


cracker crumbs in prepared crust; set aside.





2. Heat water, sugar and cream of tartar to a boil in saucepan


over high heat; simmer for 15 minutes. Add lemon juice and peel;


cool.





3. Pour syrup over cracker crumbs. Dot with margarine or butter;


sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll out remaining pastry; place over pie.


Trim, seal and flute edges. Slit top crust to allow steam to escape.





4. Bake at 425 F for 30 to 35 minutes or until crust is crisp


and golden. Cool completely.
Trimisu Cake:

BUTTER RECIPE CAKE MIX


EGG YOLKS, 6


SUGAR, 1-1/4 cups


CREAM CHEESE, two 8-ounce packages


HEAVY CREAM, 1 pint, whipped


KAHLUA, 3 ounces


ESPRESSO OR STRONG-BREWED COFFEE, 1/2 cup


COCOA


CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR


White Chocolate Sauce


WHITE CHOCOLATE, 4 ounces


HEAVY CREAM, 3/4 cup


Dark Chocolate Sauce


HALF AND HALF, 1 cup


SUGAR, 1/2 cup


COCOA, 1/4 cup


BUTTER, 3 tablespoons


VANILLA EXTRACT, 1 teaspoon





Directions:





1.Prepare cake mix according to package directions and bake in 2 round layers.


2.When cake has cooled, slice each layer to make four layers.


3.Place waxed paper between layers and refrigerate until ready to assemble cake.


4.Beat together egg yolks and sugar in top of double boiler until smooth and lemon colored.


5.Bring water to a boil, reduce heat to low, and cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly.


6.Remove mixture from heat.


7.Stir in cream cheese, beating well.


8.Let cool to room temperature.


9.Fold cream cheese mixture into whipped cream.


10.Refrigerate for 1 hour.


11.Combine Kahlua and espresso.


12.To assemble cake, place first layer on cake plate and brush with Kahlua mixture.


13.Spread cream cheese mixture until barely spills over the edge.


14.Repeat with remaining cake layers, finishing with cream cheese mixture.


15.Dust top of cake with cocoa and confectioners' sugar.


16.Serve with White Chocolate Sauce and Dark Chocolate Sauce swirled together on plate.


17.White Chocolate Sauce


18.Melt white chocolate.


19.Heat cream to boiling point.


20.Whisk cream into melted chocolate until smooth.


21Refrigerate until ready to use.


22.Dark Chocolate Sauce


23.Combine half and half, sugar, cocoa, and butter in a heavy, small saucepan.


24.Whisk over low heat until sugar dissolves and butter melts.


25.Increase heat to medium and whisk until sauce just begins to simmer.


26.Remove from heat.


27.Stir in vanilla.


28.Cool before serving.






Spam Cake


the recipe for SPAM cake is very simple. Follow the directions for any white, spice, yellow or devil鈥檚 food cake mix, but substitute grated SPAM for the oil.
