Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup

This is a recipe from a recent issue of Good Housekeeping that I'd like to try. Update: I have made this soup and really like it. I did use 3-4 skinless chicken breasts in place of the whole chicken and I substituted 8 cups of canned chicken broth for the water. If you do this, you might want to add a little less salt unless you use a low-sodium chicken broth.

put the 1 whole chicken on to simmer with a large container of chicken broth and 2 bullion cubes or 2 tsp soup base (this is better)

1 onion diced

2 ribs celery diced

1 carrot sliced

and enough water to make sure its covered well

make home made noodles by taking 2and 1/2 cups flour

3 eggs 1 tsp salt

reserve 1/2 cups flour

put in the area you plan to roll the noodles on dump the flour and add the salt

make a well in the middle and add the eggs and slowly mix and grab flour as you go around untill you have it all mixed in then kneed the dough for a bit untill its combined well if its still stickey just roll it in flour and start rolling with a rolling pin and add flour and turn the dough untill its not stickey any longer and rolls easy keep rolling untill the dough is very thin let lay and dry for as long as possable turn it if possable ...when ready to use cut into noodles and slowly add to the broth after you have removed the chicken,,stur and let simmer untill desired doneness cook for at least 15 min or so clean and shred the chicken and add it back add water to noodles as desired or more broth salt and pepper to taste
